How does a distance Reiki session work?

Because Reiki is energy, and we are energy, and everything is energy, energy with a set intention can travel distances for people, places, situations, plants, animals, your food, water...anything. Reiki energy is a universal, loving, life force energy. It’s within all of us and everywhere.  It's the same Reiki energy used during an in-person session and a distance session. You get the same treatment, we're just not physically in the same place.

Here's how it works:

  1. We connect over Zoom and I receive consent for the session.

  2. We have a chat about where you're at, what's been going on for you, anything you want to share, and we set an intention for your session. With Reiki, the practitioner also always sets the intention that the energy flow for your highest good and the highest good of all.

  3. You find your comfortable position - lying down, seated in meditation, whatever is comfortable for about an hour. Eyes closed, staying open and receptive.

  4. I then guide you into a relaxation with breathing prompts, visualization, music, and I call on Reiki energy using a distance symbol and set the intention.

  5. I continue with the treatment the way I would during an in-person session. You may feel heat in certain areas of the body, energy or vibration, have visions, receive messages, or have an emotional release.

  6. At the end of the session I do a clearing, asking that anything that needs clearing be transmuted into something far greater.

  7. Treatment concludes with smoothing and sealing of the aura.

  8. I guide you back to the space slowly. We debrief for a few minutes to share each of our experiences, if you're up for it. Sometimes clients also may just want to stay in relaxation for some time after. In that case, I can email notes to you if there is anything that came up on my end and if there is anything you’d like to share.

  9. Session is complete. I always check in a day or two after to see how things are integrating and if there's any way I can be of more support.

  10. Drink plenty of water after and in the days after. Allow yourself some time and space for integration. Be gentle with yourself.

I love distance sessions. It's amazing how on both ends we feel the energy flowing. After, clients often report feeling lighter or sleeping well, or that during the session, for once, they were finally able to totally feel relaxed (which is important for healing!). Though, because the energy always flows for your highest good and the highest good of all, it’s not always clean, bright, and airy, with the “I’m healed, love and light” feeling. Healing is a process.

Feelings or things may come up in the days or weeks after a session that may want to be addressed. That's why I always say working with energy is not a one and done treatment and it's not up to the practitioner to heal you, but rather, facilitate the process of your own self healing. We have so many layers, therefore, energy works with those layers, and it takes time to do the deeper work. Reiki is not superficial work. True healing happens below the surface, helping us live in a more meaningful, authentic, and connected way.

I could go on for so long about this! Reiki has become such an integral part of my life, where I ask it to flow in meditations, for situations, when cooking, even for traffic while I'm driving! If you are curious to learn more or have more questions, book a free Connection Call and let's chat to see how distance Reiki sessions can support you.
